Police and Maritime Safety Queensland are investigating following a fatal marine incident this morning at Trinity Inlet., Queensland Police say
Initial inquiries indicate at about 9.15am a jet-ski rider has collided with a vessel which was moored at the Cairns Marlin Marina.
Witnesses recovered the female rider from the water however she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman is believed to be an international tourist.
Investigations into the incident are continuing
