Fatal Motor Bike Crash Near Braidwood

The rider of a motor bike has died after a crash in the states south.

About 8.55pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 December 2025), emergency servies responded to reports that two motor bikes had crashed along Araluen Road, Araluen, approximately 25km south of Braidwood.

The 25-year-old male rider of one of the bikes died prior to the arrival of emergency services.

The rider of the second bike – a 14-year-old boy – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics where he was taken to Bungendore Hospital before he was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Monaro Police District established a crime scene that was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Both riders are known to one another and were travelling together at the time.

Inquiries have also established that the bikes were unregistered.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with information about the crash – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contract Queanbeyan Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
