Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Cherrybrook: Police Responding

A motorcycle rider has died following a crash in Sydney's north-west overnight.

Just before 11pm (Friday 4 August 2023), emergency services were called to the intersection of New Line Road and Purchase Road, Cherrybrook, after reports a Honda motorcycle and Nissan Navara had collided.

The rider, a man believed to be aged in his 20s, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.

He was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station before being released pending further investigation.

Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol established a crime scene which has been examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
