Fatal pedestrian incident at Mount Isa

A pedestrian has died following a single vehicle crash in Mount Isa last night.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at about 6:20pm, a 58-year-old Mornington man walked across Isa Street in Mount Isa and was struck by an oncoming car.

The man was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Healy man, was not injured during the incident.

Police believe the pedestrian may have been with another man who left the scene prior to police arrival.
