Fatal police shooting, Deception Bay

A man has died after he was shot by police in Deception Bay this afternoon.

Around 2.10pm, a male senior constable and a female constable attended a caravan park on Deception Bay Road after reports that a man armed with knives was making threats.

During a confrontation with police, officer discharged their firearm, fatally injuring the man.

As is standard procedure following a police-involved shooting, the Ethical Standards Command is investigating.

Support is being provided to the officers involved.
