Fatal rail incident in Mooloolah, QLD

Police are investigating a fatal rail incident which occurred last night near a Mooloolah Railway Station, Queensland Police say.

At around 11.30pm, a man was struck by a train approximately 400 metres north of the station, which was travelling towards Nambour.

The man, who was wearing a dressing gown, a leather hat and glasses was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime attended and secured the scene as they work to determine the man’s identity.

Any witnesses who may have seen the man in the area prior to the time of the incident is urged to contact police.
