Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal car crash in Burwood East this morning.
It is believed a car travelling east on Burwood Highway left the road and crashed into a tree about 10am.
The male driver of the car died at the scene.
A female passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Burwood Highway, between Blackburn Road and Lakeside Drive has been closed to eastbound traffic until further notice.
