Fatal single-vehicle crash near Albury

A man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree at Little Billabong in the Murray River Region yesterday.

About 4pm (Monday 12 August 2019), a 59-year-old man was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander south along the Hume Highway at Little Billabong, with four passengers aged 49, two aged 58 and a child aged 8.

The vehicle appears to have crossed to the incorrect side of the road and crashed into a tree. Witnesses have stopped and rendered assistance however, the driver was unresponsive.

Attempts to revive the driver failed and he died at the scene. His four passengers were uninjured.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
