Fatal traffic crash at Burpengary, QLD

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate just at 4:38pm a car and a motorcycle were travelling northbound when they collided near the Arthur Drewitt Drive overpass.

The motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike and was subsequently struck by a third vehicle, which then also struck a car parked on the side of the highway.

A 25-year-old Burpengary man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 48-year-old woman transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.

As a result of the crash traffic was diverted along New Settlement Road and the Bruce Highway currently remains closed.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam vision to contact police.
