Fatal Traffic Crash at Cairns North: Police On Scene

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle and pedestrian traffic crash at Cairns North last night, 5 September.

Initial investigations indicate that around 9:50pm, a grey Toyota Corolla was travelling along Mcleod Street before it struck a 27-year-old Westcourt man.

The man sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 40-year-old Redlynch man, did not sustain physical injuries.

Investigations are ongoing, and police are urging anyone with relevant information or vision to come forward.
