Fatal Traffic Crash at Chances Plain, Chinchilla

Two people have died in a single vehicle crash at Chances Plain, east of Chinchilla this afternoon, May 7.

Emergency services were called to Chinchilla Wondai Road around 4:10pm following reports a grey Mitsubishi Pajero had struck a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old Elimbah woman, sustained serious injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

Two other occupants, a 7-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl were airlifted to Chinchilla Hospital.

The 7-year-old boy was declared deceased a short time later.

The 9-year-old girl remains in a serious but stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident, and appeal to anyone who may have any relent information or video footage to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
