Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Hervey Range this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Initial investigations indicate at around 12.20pm a motorcycle was travelling west on Hervey Range Road when it collided with the rear of a utility, also travelling west. The incident happened approximately 30km west of Townsville.
The rider of the motorcycle, a Gulliver man in his forties, died at the scene.
The driver of the utility was transported to hospital as a precaution.
Investigations are continuing.
