Emergency services were called to Allora Street around 7.50am following reports of a fire, and when police arrived, the unit was engulfed by flames.
The unit was destroyed, and an adjoining unit sustained structural damage.
A crime scene has been declared, with Scenes of Crime officers and fire investigators currently at the scene. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
A body was located inside the unit, which is believed to be that of a 65-year-old man.
