Fatal hang glider crash in Parkes

A hang glider has died after a crash in the central west this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Peak Hill, near Parkes, about 5.45pm (Saturday 30 December 2017), following reports the hang glider, a 31-year-old woman from Victoria, had crashed.

Bystanders rushed to her aid and performed CPR before the arrival of emergency services who continued CPR but she could not be revived.

Parkes police with assistance from the Aviation Support Branch will examine all circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
