Fawkner Highway Patrol Nab Woman In Stolen Car Coolaroo

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers have arrested a woman following a crash in an allegedly stolen car in Coolaroo on 8 May.

Officers caught sight of an allegedly stolen red Mazda 6 travelling on Sydney Road about 3.15am.

It is alleged the Mazda was stolen from a Fawkner address earlier this week.

The Mazda allegedly took off from police at a fast rate of speed before officers lost sight of the vehicle.

Police located the vehicle a short time later, having allegedly crashed into a brick fence and a house, near the corner of Blair Street and Barry Road.

Officers moved in quickly and arrested a woman at the scene.

The house sustained minor damage while home occupants were uninjured.

A 32-year-old Dallas woman was interviewed and released pending summons.

She is expected to be charged with drive whilst disqualified, fail oral fluid test, handle stolen goods and possess a drug of dependence.

An investigation into the theft of the car remain ongoing.
