Federal funding windfall exposes Government out of touch on cost of living

Tasmanian Labor

Treasurer Michael Ferguson's attempts to claim credit for GST and COVID payment windfalls expose a Government that is completely out of touch when it comes to the soaring cost of living.

Households and businesses are being stretched to breaking point right now - they need a Treasurer focused on getting the basics right for them, not gloating about federal payments he had nothing to do with while the State's debt ticks over $1 billion.

A good start would be supporting Labor's plan to cap power prices.

Tasmanians know the Liberals aren't getting the basics right on the economy - and our State's record debt, soaring energy prices and a cost of living crisis prove it.

Shadow Treasurer
