Federation Centenary Fountains Side Pool Garden Beds Open For Community Voting And Feedback

NCA

The National Capital Authority (NCA) continues work on the interim refresh of the Federation Centenary Fountains.

Works on the plaza area is almost complete and the NCA moves into the next phase of the project, the side pool garden beds.

The two side fountain pools are being reimagined into garden beds. Working closely with landscape architects the NCA has designed 3 garden bed layouts.

Each of the designs compliments the land axis and parliament heritage vista that the Federation Centenary Fountains are located in.

To continue with the symmetry throughout the National Triangle, the same garden bed layout will be used for both side pools.

The NCA invites members of the community to take time to review and consider the 3 different options and share their selection in order of preference of which design they think should be planted in the space.

Full details on the design and the Native Australian plants selected can be found on the project page

The results from the community's feedback will be shared in early 2026, closely followed by planting out of the garden beds.

The interim refresh works will bring a welcome upgrade to this precinct in the National Triangle, transforming the area into an attractive, usable space with garden beds and a complementary plaza space suitable for hosting events.
