Feral cats in Portarlington

The following comments are to be attributed to City of Greater Geelong Director Planning, Design and Development Gareth Smith:

Over the past six months the City has been working with individuals and businesses in the Portarlington shopping centre area to resolve issues relating to pest animals.

During this time we have removed more than 20 cats from the area.

We have scheduled a further feral cat trapping program for the coming weeks to directly address concerns recently raised by community members.

Unfortunately, feral cats are a state and national issue and we will continue to work with other agencies to address these matters on a larger scale.
