Ferguson's infrastructure flop

Tasmanian Labor
  • Liberals failing to build infrastructure Tasmania needs
  • Two tow trucks not enough after five years of failure
  • The sum total of the Hodgman Government's solutions to Tasmania's rapidly increasing congestion problem amounts to three words….. two tow trucks.

Shadow Roads and Infrastructure Minister David O'Byrne today said it was embarrassing the Government had nothing else to show after five years in Government.

"Two tow trucks doesn't even amount to starting to fix Tasmania's traffic problem," Mr O'Byrne said.

"After five years all Michael Ferguson can point to is two tow trucks, a three-times delayed infrastructure strategy, a phantom Hobart bus mall and an airport roundabout that won't be delivered until Matthew Wade plays his hundredth test match.

"The Government has been asleep at the wheel for too long, and it's high time they actually started building the infrastructure Tasmanians deserve.

"I am starting to worry that the Minister might have the same aptitude for infrastructure as he did for our hospitals and health system."

    David O'Byrne MP

Shadow Minister for Roads and Infrastructure
