Ferry returning to service Wednesday 16 November: Ballina Shire

The Burns Point Ferry's return to service following annual maintenance has been slightly delayed.

The ferry was due to return to service from 5.30am Monday 14 November, however it will now return to service from 5.30am Wednesday 16 November 2022.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the community for their understanding and patience during these essential maintenance works.

The ferry's return to service in Ballina is dependent on its progression through the works program as well as safe and navigable weather conditions.

Unfortunately, a delay in the works program combined with anticipated weather conditions will impact the return to service.

The ferry is undergoing structural and safety upgrades, with the vessel blasted and repainted.

Until the ferry returns to service road users are advised to use the alternate route of the Pacific Highway and River Drive, Wardell.
