Festa Italia is back!

Elise Archer, Liberal Member for Clark

Plenty of fabulous food and colour has returned to Federal Street in North Hobart for this year's Festa Italia.

The Rockliff Liberal Government is proud to be long-time supporter of this much-loved community event.

Elise Archer, Liberal Member for Clark said it was great to see this wonderful community event back in 2023, after a two-year hiatus due to the impacts of COVID-19.

"We know how important community events are to our sense of wellbeing, connection and celebration," Minister Archer said.

"The Festival showcases the diverse culture, customs and traditions of our Australian Italian community and it's wonderful to see our broader Tasmanian community embracing this wonderful family-friendly event.

"As we've come to expect, there is a range of delicious traditional Italian food and drink on offer; spaghetti and watermelon eating competitions; grape squashing, pasta demonstrations, music and dancing, and much more!

"Thank you also to the Festa Italia Committee, particularly Michael Pace and John Venettacci, and additionally the Australian Italian Club for its ongoing commitment to this and other events throughout the year. Also, a big shout out to all the sponsors and, of course, the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure that Festa Italia ran seamlessly.

"Our Government provides $12,000 a year to support Festa Italia with events like this one, encouraging us to come together and celebrate our great multicultural State.

"These events also support our Government's vision for a harmonious, inclusive, and respectful multicultural island where Tasmanians of all cultures have an equal opportunity to belong, contribute, achieve and succeed," Minister Archer said.
