Festivale roars back into City Park this summer

Nic Street, Minister for Hospitality and Events

Congratulations go out to the organisers of Festivale, with tickets selling out showing just how loved this iconic event is.

Kicking off tomorrow, this year's edition of the popular summer festival will feature a prominent line-up of local entertainers, interstate celebrity chefs, producers, and nationally renowned performers.

Minister for Hospitality and Events, Nic Street, congratulated everyone involved in the three-day festival.

"Tickets selling out prior to the event starting is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organising committee," he said.

"The Rockliff Liberal Government, through Events Tasmania, is a proud supporter of Festivale having provided $810,000 in funding to support delivery of the event over a three-year period.

"The first full-scale event since 2020, Festivale 2023 is expected to attract more than 25,000 patrons, drawing in locals and visitors alike to celebrate the incredible produce and performers Tasmania has to offer."

This year's entertainment program is one of the best yet, featuring several of Australia's finest live music acts including The Superjesus and The Living End on Friday evening, Sneaky Sound System and Sheppard on Saturday evening, and Thirsty Merc and The Waifs on Sunday afternoon.

In addition, celebrity guest chef Gary Mehigan, of MasterChef Australia fame, and several local chefs will be in action over the weekend, in a jam-packed schedule.
