A fifth person has been charged by Eastern Beaches detectives following an alleged stabbing in Sydney's east last month.
Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged assault and a stabbing of a 16-year-old boy on Carnegie Court, Chifley, about 8.20pm on Saturday 5 July 2025.
Police were told the boy and an 18-year-old man were approached by about 10 people – two of the group allegedly armed with machetes.
The 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by members of the group before they left the scene.
The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to a hospital in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and Eastern Beaches detectives commenced Strike Force Murdong to investigate the incident.
Following inquiries, strike force detectives have arrested and charged three boys aged 15,16, and 17, and an 18-year-old woman.
They remain before the courts.
Following further investigations, about 7am today (Friday 29 August 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Robinson Street, Eastlakes, where an 18-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 30 August 2025).
