Logan City Council has today set its sights on a brighter future, endorsing Logan 2075 - a new, long-term vision for the City of Logan.

Underpinned by seven interconnected goals, Logan 2075 is designed to deliberately shape Logan's future by providing a clear direction for how, when and where the city will change.

Mayor Jon Raven said Logan 2075 was the most ambitious city-shaping project ever undertaken in Logan.

"Everyone has heard me talk about Logan being the youngest, fastest growing and most diverse city in Queensland," Mayor Raven said.

"Those three things might sound like throw away stats, but they come with huge responsibility.

"Our city has amazing potential, and we owe it to future generations to ensure we don't waste it by drifting along or accepting the status quo.

"This is the moment we need to lean in to the future and set the ambitious, long-term goals that will drive our city forward with purpose."

As a multigenerational project, Logan 2075 is designed to deliver a city that stands the test of time.

Importantly, it builds on what already makes Logan special - its people, diversity, resilience and strong sense of community.

More than 1,000 locals provided input to develop Logan 2075.

Engagement activities included a 50‑person community reference panel, a citywide survey, workshops with young people and engagement with First Nations groups, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and business and industry representatives.

Sessions were also held with 12 primary schools involving children aged five to 12, to ensure the voices of children were captured.

Logan 2075's seven citywide goals are clear and flexible:

  • City Shape and Mobility: By 2075, the transport network enables the shape of the city and connects people to opportunity.
  • Strong Economy: By 2075, Logan has a strong economic identity, generating quality jobs that keep talent and investment local.
  • Magnetic Places: By 2075, Logan's urban villages and precincts will be magnetic destinations that draw people in and energise the city.
  • Green Logan: By 2075, the city is alive with nature and people travel to experience it.
  • Resilient and Sustainable City: By 2075, Logan is a resilient city, managing its resources wisely to support a healthy environment and community.
  • Everyone Thrives: By 2075, Logan is a place where everyone can reach their full potential.
  • Shared and United Future: By 2075, Logan is known as a place where our diversity enriches us and our unity defines us.

Mayor Raven said Logan 2075 would not be delivered by Council alone, but in partnership with the wider community.

"Logan 2075 has come directly from our community," Mayor Raven said.

"When I was running for Mayor people would tell me they wanted us to do better long-term planning, and they were right.

"We need to put the ambition of the future ahead of the demands of today, so that whenever we have a tough decision to make, we can let those values guide us.

"We want to partner with other levels of government, trusted stakeholders and our community in achieving these goals, because none of us will still be in local government when this work is done.

"Working hand in hand with our community will ensure we maintain the confidence and clarity to plan and advocate with purpose."

The endorsement of Logan 2075 marks the completion of the first phase of Council's ambitious Transform Logan program.

Phase 2, which is subject to funding in Council's 2026/27 Budget, will focus on the delivery of a set of streamlined, aspirational strategies to help Council meet the visionary goals over time.

This will include developing a new database of city metrics to inform strategic planning and measure progress, breaking down the 50-year vision into realistic 10-year milestones and exploring new partnership opportunities.

More details will be shared with the community later this year.
