Final update: Logan disturbance

Yesterday afternoon police charged a 33-year-old Upper Coomera man for his alleged involvement in an incident at a shopping centre at Loganholme on Monday, February 4.

The man has been charged with one count of affray and one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. Police will further allege a circumstance of aggravation to the charge, that this man is a member of a criminal organisation (Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang).

It will be alleged that on February 4, around 4.30pm the man was one of a number of men who were involved in an altercation in this shopping centre. This altercation resulted in a 27-year-old man receiving a gunshot wound to his leg.

Following the incident, significant investigations were undertaken by the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch supported by State Crime Command and resulting in all offenders involved in this matter being charged with a range of serious offences. These matters are now before the courts.

"Violence involving criminal gangs, particularly in public spaces, will not be tolerated.

"These arrests highlight the commitment of the Queensland Police Service to target members of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. We continue to use current legislation to target, disrupt and dismantle criminal organisations that cause harm to our community," Detective Inspector Glen Donaldson of the Organised Crime Gangs Group said.
