On 16 June 2026, Council resolved to adopt the Glenorie Place Strategy, which has now been finalised and is publicly available on Council's website.
The Glenorie Place Strategy establishes a vision and blueprint for modest growth and revitalisation of the village, including potential changes to controls, infrastructure improvements and objectives for the public domain, while prioritising the protection and enhancement of Glenorie's well-established rural character. It builds on the strategic work and policies of Council and the NSW Government, as well as detailed investigations into Glenorie's unique features, role and function, environmental constraints and capacity to service new development.
Importantly, the Strategy does not seek to contribute to State Government housing targets. The Strategy proposes modest residential growth within close proximity to the village centre to strengthen the economic viability of local businesses, protect surrounding rural and productive lands, mitigate land use conflicts and enhance walkability of the village.
The Glenorie Place Strategy should be read in conjunction with the supporting Background Investigations paper and technical studies, which are also publicly available on Council's website.
