Finalists announced for 2019 NT Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards

The finalists in the 16th annual Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards have been announced in Alice Springs.

The Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts of nurses and midwives who make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Territorians on a daily basis.

"Nurses and midwives have a profound impact on the lives of others. They work relentlessly in often challenging environments to deliver care to those in need," said NT Health Chief Executive Professor Catherine Stoddart.

"Awards like this are very important in a field where staff seek little recognition. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a nurse or midwife for these awards."

There were 132 nominations received this year, a testament to the exceptional work of Territory nurses and midwives right across the Territory, in public, private and Aboriginal community-controlled services.

A complete list of finalists will be available at https://health.nt.gov.au/professionals/nursing-and-midwifery/nursing-and-midwifery-excellence-awards.

The awards will be presented on Saturday 11 May 2019 at a Gala Dinner at SkyCity, Darwin. Tickets are available through www.nmea.nt.gov.au.
