The Territory's most inspiring early childhood educators, leaders and programs are set to be celebrated, with finalists announced for the 2026 Child Australia Northern Territory Education and Care Awards.
Now in its thirteenth year, the awards recognise the dedicated educators, leaders and services making an extraordinary difference in the lives of children and families across the Northern Territory.
More than 80 nominations were received for this year's awards, highlighting the depth of talent, innovation and commitment within the Territory's early childhood and outside school hours care sector.
An awards ceremony will be held on Friday 16 October 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the education and care services.

The Awards night is followed by the Little People, Big Dreams Conference in Darwin on Saturday 17 October. The Conference brings together industry experts and researchers, service providers and educators and sector wide parties providing ample opportunity for professional development, continuo9us improvement, networking and knowledge sharing.

Acting Chief Executive, Department of Education and Training, Aderyn Chatterton said early childhood and school‑aged educators play an extraordinary role in shaping the futures of Territory children.
