Finks OMCG members issued over 50 infringement notices, NSW

Officers from State Crime Command’s Strike Force Raptor have issued over 50 infringement notices to Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members near Goulburn yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before midday yesterday, officers attached to State Crime Command Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor stopped 16 motorcycles travelling along the Hume Highway south of Marulan.

Further inquiries led Raptor officers with the assistance of Goulburn Traffic and Highway Patrol officers to stop and speak to a second group of motorcyclists at a service station in Pheasants Nest.

The riders were spoken to and checks revealed they were all members of the Finks OMCG.

The motorcycles were inspected, before police issued the riders a number of infringements including:

- 54 infringement notices for offences including speeding, safety hazards on the motorcycles, and registration;

- Nine major grounding defects;

- One criminal infringement notice for offensive language; and,

- Four parking infringement notices.

Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace, Commander of State Crime Command’s Gang Squad, said the incident showed that police across the state would continue to work together to stop OMCG members undertaking illegal activity.

"Strike Force Raptor is a high-impact, pro-active response that will target outlaw motorcycle gang members and their associated criminal enterprises," Detective Superintendent Wallace said.

"But it won’t just stop at Strike Force Raptor officers. Police officers around the state will continue to work closely with specialist officers to monitor and target OMCG activity.

"Officers will target everything from traffic offences and bail compliance, to firearm and security licensing, to drug offences and illegal business practices, to violence and retribution.

"I urge any members of the public who suspect any type of illegal activity, included that of suspected gang members, to come forward using the safety of an anonymous phone call to Crime Stoppers.
