Fire Crews Visit Berridale and Dalgety for Home Fire Safety

Smoke Alarm

Local Fire & Rescue NSW and Rural Fire Service teams joined forces to carry out Home Fire Safety Visits in Berridale and Dalgety last weekend.

An estimated 250 Home Fire Safety Visits were conducted, with this collaboration improving local fire safety awareness and reducing potential fire danger.

This initiative comes in response to a recent series of house fires around the region – including three call-outs in as many days in Berridale and Dalgety – calling for heightened fire safety awareness.

Visiting teams installed approximately 50 new smoke detectors, and replaced more than 50 batteries in existing smoke alarms. This service coupled with conversations about fire safety specific to each home, have worked together to lower the risks from fire across our community.
