Fire destroys two commercial properties in Randwick

Emergency services remain at the scene of a fire that broke out in a commercial premise in Randwick tonight, NSW Police say.

About 11.35pm (Monday 16 July 2018), emergency services were called at a laundromat on Barker Street, near Botany Street, following reports of a building fire.

On arrival officers located the premises well alight; the fire had also spread to the service station next door.

Both properties have sustained significant structural damage.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command evacuated approximately 30 residents from nearby properties while NSW Fire & Rescue officers continue to extinguish the blaze.

A crime scene has been established and a full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
