The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland with more equipment and new fire trucks to support frontline firefighters, as well as a major boost to Betterment funding in the 2025-26 Budget.

The $4.357 billion fire and disaster recovery Budget provides the foundation for a fresh start for Queensland's future, with more resilience and recovery support and bolstered resources for our firefighting frontline.

More than $36 million has been allocated to continue the delivery of new and replacement Queensland Fire and Rescue stations, including in the growing areas of Beerwah, Greater Springfield, Gympie South, Caloundra and Boonah.

This includes $7.5 million to commence land acquisition to deliver replacement stations at Ayr, Highfields, Kingaroy, and other future strategic areas, ensuring personnel have access to the best facilities to respond to future emergencies, as well as site investigations and early scoping works for a replacement fire station at Hervey Bay.

An investment of $25.7 million will see Queensland Fire and Rescue firefighters equipped with new and replacement trucks to enhance operational capability and response.

The Rural Fire Service Queensland will receive $23.7 million for new and replacement trucks and more than $13.2 million for stations, including $1 million to commence work on new or upgraded stations at Abbot Point, Bell Town and Mount Ossa.

The Crisafulli Government is also delivering more than $9 million for new operational equipment, including specialised firefighting, scientific analysis and rescue equipment.

Firefighters can rest assured they will have continued access to comprehensive workers' compensation with $15.7 million to support both paid and volunteer firefighters following a significant expansion of the Presumptive Legislation Workers' Compensation scheme.

The Crisafulli Government is also delivering on a key election promise, with $40 million a year towards the Queensland Betterment Fund, delivering high priority betterment infrastructure projects, including funding towards raising the Curzon Street Bridge in Rocklea and crucial flood mitigation measures in Laidley, as promised.

This is part of the Crisafulli Government's $450 million commitment over five years for the Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Program, to improve the State's resilience to natural disasters.

Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2025–26 Budget was about delivering a plan for Queensland's future.

"We promised a fresh start for Queensland and that's exactly what this Budget delivers," Treasurer Janetzki said.

"After crises in youth crime, health, housing and cost of living, this budget delivers the foundation for safety where you live, health services when you need them, a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a plan for Queensland's future."

Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers Ann Leahy said the Budget delivered the equipment and resources needed by firefighters, after years of piecemeal support from Labor.

"We are delivering the resources our firies need and backing our brave men and women on the frontline after a decade of Labor's failures to fund and resource them," Minister Leahy said.

"Funding for replacement stations at Kingaroy and Ayr were a priority the Crisafulli Government brought to the last election, and now we are delivering to ensure firefighters are well equipped, now and in the future.

"We are also ensuring our dedicated RFSQ volunteers are supported with a significant investment in new equipment and facilities, allowing them to continue to perform their life-saving work in the safest way possible.

"Queensland has the most comprehensive workers compensation for firefighters in Australia and this additional funding will ensure firefighters receive the support they need for a wide range of illnesses, including women's reproductive cancers as more women choose careers in firefighting."

Minister Leahy said while resources, equipment and personnel support measures were imperative to the success of incident and disaster response, ensuring a strong volunteer-base for a range of services in communities was just as important.

"Volunteers make vital social and economic contributions to our State, and the Crisafulli Government is committed to driving up participation rates and enhancing the volunteering experience and opportunities," Minister Leahy said.

"We've delivered on our election commitment to drive up participation rates in volunteering by establishing the Parliamentary Inquiry into Volunteering in Queensland and this work will continue with ongoing public hearings and written submissions.

"More than 550 written submissions have been provided so far, detailing the challenges and barriers to volunteering in Queensland and I look forward to the Inquiry presenting its recommendations in a report in coming months."

Minister Leahy said a holistic approach to strengthen community resilience was essential and the QRRRP, driven by the Queensland Betterment Fund, will ensure Queensland is well-positioned for future disasters.

"Betterment is the centrepiece of the QRRRP, improving the resilience of vital assets like roads, bridges and water infrastructure to future disaster events," she said.

"By not just repairing damaged assets but building them back to a stronger standard, we are making sure our State is better prepared for disasters in the future.

"Increasing annual betterment investment was a promise we made to Queenslanders at the election as we know it offers huge benefits to communities and our economy."
