Police established a crime scene following a fire at an apartment complex in Macquarie Fields yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 5pm (Wednesday 22 November 2017), emergency services were called to a unit in Saywell Road after neighbours reported smoke coming from inside the property.
The single occupant, a 46-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
No one else was injured.
Police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command have commenced an investigation.
At this stage, the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
