A Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating has been declared for the North Central Fire District, which includes Mitchell Shire, for Friday 9 January.
A Total Fire Ban is also in place, alongside a severe heatwave warning, with daytime temperatures forecast to reach the high 30s and low 40s.
Catastrophic fire danger ratings are rare and represent the most dangerous fire conditions. Community safety is the priority, and residents are urged to stay informed and take action early.
