Firearm and drug offences at Beenleigh

Logan police have charged a 40-year-old man with multiple firearm and drug offences after searching a Beenleigh residence yesterday.

Around 8.20am (July 16) officers from the Logan Drugs and Firearms team executed a search at a residence on Kokoda Street, where they allegedly located a quantity of dangerous drugs and a locked safe.

Police will allege they later seized two firearms, one pump action shot gun, one hand gun and one suspected stolen rifle from the safe, along with ammunition, steroids and a quantity of GHB.

He was charged with two counts of possessing weapons, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing explosives and receiving tainted property.

He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 16.

Investigations are ongoing.
