Firearm, drugs and cash found, NSW

Two men will face court today after police allegedly located drugs, cash and a loaded firearm in Parramatta, NSW Police say.

About 12.15am today, officers attached to the Police Transport Command’s Transport Action Group, spoke with a man in a car park on the Great Western Highway.

During a subsequent search of the man, police located a loaded firearm, prohibited drugs and cash.

Officers then attended a motel in Parramatta where they spoke to a second man.

During a search of the second man, officers located pills believed to be a prohibited substance and a knife.

Both men, aged 37, were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The first man was charged with a number of firearms offences including posses loaded firearm in a public place and posses ammunition without a licence, as well as posses prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, custody of a knife and deal with property likely to be proceeds of crime.

The second man was charged with unrelated warrant matters.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
