A loaded firearm and drugs were seized during the execution of a search warrant at a Waratah home, NSW Police say.
Acting on information received, Newcastle Detectives executed a search warrant at a Stannett Street address today.
During the warrant police located and seized a .22 calibre loaded pistol, multiple bags of .22 calibre ammunition and shot gun shells, laptops, mobile phones and small quantities of cannabis, methylamphetamine and MDMA (ecstasy).
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
He was released pending further inquiries.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
