Firearm incident in Cairns, QLD

Police are investigating after a man sustained a wound to his leg at a White Rock residence last night.

At around 7.30pm police were called to a disturbance at a Yangoora Street house.

During an argument, a shot was discharged which injured a man's leg.

A 40-year-old White Rock man was taken to the Cairns Hospital in a stable condition with a single gunshot wound to the right thigh.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the matter are continuing.
