Firearm located - Alice Springs

Police have recovered a firearm stolen from a residence in East Side on the weekend.

It is alleged unknown offender/s unlawfully entered a home and stole a firearm, magazine, ammunition and $2000 worth of $100 notes sometime between 9:40am and midday on Sunday, Northern Territory Police say.

Police have since recovered the firearm, however the money remains outstanding.

Detective Acting Snr Sgt Leith Phillips said he urged people to be on the lookout for youth using $100 notes.

"It is a substantial amount of cash to be stolen, said Detective A/Snr Sgt Phillips

"We urge members of the public to take notice of youth handing over $100 notes as payment and contact police as it will indeed assist us with our investigation."
