Firearm stolen in Berry

Police are appealing for information after a firearm was stolen from a home in Berry last week, NSW Police say.

Between Tuesday 14 March 2017 and 10.30am today, an unknown person gained entry to a home on Prince Alfred Street and took a safely-secured .222 calibre rifle before fleeing the scene.

An 89-year-old woman at the home at the time when the incident is believed to have occurred was not approached or injured, and no further items were stolen.

Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command were contacted and commenced investigations.

A crime scene was established and will be examined by forensic specialists.

As inquires continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have witnesses suspicious activity in the area at the time, or anyone with information, to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
