Firearms charges in Spring Hill, QLD

Detectives have charged a man after allegedly locating a loaded firearm in Spring Hill yesterday., Queensland Police say

It will be alleged at 1.40pm police executed a search warrant at a residence in Astor Terrace, Spring Hill.

It will be alleged a shortened shotgun was located in a bag in the living room.

A man ran from the residence but was located a short time later by police.

It will be further alleged at 11.15pm on February 16, a 38-year-old man was threatened with a firearm as he got out of his vehicle in Sydney Street, Kedron. The man got back into his car and drove away without further incident. The two men are known to each other.

It will be further alleged at 1.10am on January 24, a 20-year-old woman was sitting next to her parked vehicle at a fast food restaurant on Gympie Road Aspley. She was approached by a man who allegedly threatened her with a knife and demanded the keys for her car. She refused and ran away and the man left the area.

A 39-year-old Mango Hill man has been charged with one count each of attempted robbery, threatening violence, fail to stop motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent and possess shortened firearm.

He is expected to appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today, February 22.

Investigations into other incidents on Brisbane’s north side are continuing.
