Firearms seized as part of break-and-enter investigations near Wollongong, NSW

Police investigating two break and enters near Wollongong have seized several firearms during a search warrant today, NSW Police say.

About 1.15am (Wednesday 29 August 2018), two people broke into a post office on Meadow Street, Tarrrawanna, and stole jewellery.

A short time later, two people broke into a convenience store on Balgownie Road, Balgownie, and stole an iPad, cigarettes and a donation box containing cash.

Officers from Wollongong Police District commenced an investigation into the incidents, which are believed to be linked.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Chounding Crescent, Bellambi.

Officers seized three firearms and ammunition.

Inquiries continue.
