Firearms seized during FPO search - Glenroy

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have seized five firearms during the search of a premises in Glenroy yesterday as part of the service of a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO), Victoria Police say.

Police intercepted a 47-year-old man on Trevannion Street shortly after 9.45am.

The man was served with an FPO and as a result, a search of his vehicle was undertaken.

Police then accompanied the man to nearby property where a search of that house led to the seizure of three handguns and two longarms, along with a quantity of ammunition.

The man was charged with traffic firearms, prohibited person possess firearm, unlicensed person possess ammunition, drive whilst disqualified and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He faced Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded to appear again on 20 September.
