Firearms seized, man arrested during FPO search at Bankstown

A man has been charged after police allegedly located two firearms during a firearms prohibition order (FBO) search at a unit in Bankstown.

About 1.30pm Tuesday 25 June 2019, Bankstown Detectives attended a unit in Restwell Street to execute a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO).

Police allege they located a Luger-style pistol containing a magazine and a replica Glock-style firearm in an air conditioner.

The items were seized and will be forensically examined.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station. He was charged with a number of firearm offences including possess pistol, possess prohibited weapon and possess ammunition.

He was refused bail and appeared at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday (26 June 2019), where he was remanded in custody and will re-appear on Wednesday 24 July 2019.
