Firearms seized, man charged at Tahmoor

Police have seized multiple firearms after a search warrant was executed on a property at Tahmoor, in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command – assisted by officers from South West Metropolitan and North West Metropolitan Operations Support Group (OSG) – executed the warrant about 4.30pm (Friday 13 October 2023), on a property on Bargo River Road.

During the search police seized a 12-gauge sawn-off pistol grip shotgun, two rifles – one loaded – and assorted ammunition.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.

He's been charged with six offences,

  • Unauthorised possession of firearm (two counts)
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a defaced firearm
  • Not keep firearm safe, and
  • Possession of ammunition.

The man has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later today (Saturday 14 October 2023).
