Firearms stolen in Western NSW

Police are appealing for information after the theft of firearms from a home in the state’s far west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Between 6.15am and 5pm yesterday, a home on Gunn Street, Wentworth, was broken into and eight firearms were stolen from a safe.

Officers from Barrier Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Police have been told a woman was seen in the area at the time and believe she may be able to assist with their inquiries.

She is described as being about 20 to 25-years-old, 175cm tall, of thin build, wearing a dark top and blue jeans.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
