Firewood Offered to Community Groups Post-Longwood Fires

Council is inviting eligible community groups to apply to receive firewood recovered following the January 2026 Longwood Fires.

As part of roadside clean-up works, Council and its contractors collected fire-affected logs from local roadsides. This material is now being made available to support community recovery.

Who can apply?

Local community organisations, not-for-profit groups and volunteer networks that support fire-affected residents can apply.

Applicants must be able to safely manage and distribute firewood to households in need within the affected community.

What's involved?

Successful applicants will receive firewood and use it to support local residents, including coordinating storage, handling and distribution.
