First Arrests Made in Wakeley Disorder by Strike Force Dribs

A man has been charged by officers investigating a public order incident at Wakeley earlier this week.

Strike Force Dribs was set up to investigate the violent incidents outside a Wakeley church on Monday 15 April 2024, following the alleged attack of a 53-year-old religious leader.

Following inquiries, officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region and North West Metropolitan Operation Support Group (OSG) executed a search warrant at a home in Powers Street, Doonside, about 5.40pm (Wednesday 17 April 2024) today.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with riot, affray and destroy/damage property during public disorder.

He has been refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 18 April 2024).

Inquiries are continuing.
