Fisherman dies after being washed off rocks - Kurnell

A man has died after being washed into the water while rock-fishing in Sydney's south today.

About 3.15pm (Friday 23 April 2021), emergency services were called to Potter Point Road, Kurnell, following reports of two people in distress in the water.

Witnesses helped bring both men to shore. Attempts to revive one of the men was unsuccessful, and he was declared deceased by paramedics.

The other man is currently being treated at the scene.

Officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command were told the men were rock-fishing when they were washed into the water.

A crime scene has been established. Inquiries continue.
