Fishermen rescued from breakwater, South Australia

Nine fishermen were rescued after becoming stranded on a breakwater at St Kilda this morning.

The alarm was raised about 7.30am on Sunday 13 November.

The men had walked out onto the breakwater but became cut off from the shore by the rising tide and strong winds.

Water Operations Police attended and ferried the men by boat into the St Kilda boat ramp, then returned to the breakwater to retrieve all the men's fishing gear.

The men were checked over by paramedics and, once they had dried off and warmed up, required no further medical treatment.
